John Phillips Teases UFC Release: "It's Been A Pleasure"

John Phillips has spent the last two-plus years competing in the UFC, but according to the fighter himself, his UFC tenure could be coming to an end.

The fighter posted the following on Twitter:

Max Holloway KO's Justin Gaethje In Buzzer Beater Throwdown Finish At UFC 300

@ufc it’s been a pleasure thanks for all the opportunities, memories that will last a life time

It should be noted that as of this writing, Phillips is a part of the UFC roster, but the UFC rarely announces when they release fighters from their contracts.

Phillips 1-5-0 record in the UFC (22-11-0-1NC overall), with that lone win coming over Alen Amedovski, while those losses came to the five pack of Charles Byrd, Kevin Holland, Jack Marshman, Khamzat Chimaev and Jun Yong Park.

While Phillips hasn’t found much success within the UFC, he has found lots of success outside the promotion, which includes a win over former UFC fighter and current Bellator fighter Charlie Ward.
