Jon Jones Is A Bad Guy Trying To Be Good

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones puts the gold on the line against Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC 239.

The light heavyweight champion must be looking inwards a lot lately, as he has come to a realization that he may be a bad guy trying to be good.

“I think I am a bad guy that’s trying to be good,” Jones said during the UFC 239 media day (via Nolan King & Ken Hathaway of MMA Junkie). “Religiously, we’re all sinners. We’re all sinners. We’re born into sin. It’s out nature to sin. It’s a decision to do the right thing when no one is looking. I think all of us, as humans, none of us are shit. It’s our choice to try to be more than. So, I would have to say I’m lean closer to being an imperfect human that’s trying to do the right things and be good.”

Jones has dealt with a lot of issues during his time in the UFC, including a pair of failed drug tests before UFC 200 and in-line with UFC 214.

UFC 239 takes place tonight from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Thiago Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
