After several weeks of hinting that he may be retiring from MMA, today, UFC fighter Kevin Holland officially announced his retirement from MMA — this and much more in Tuesday's social media roundup.
Kevin Holland officially announces his retirement from MMA
Following his dominant defeat to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279, Kevin Holland teased that he could be done with MMA for good. Despite many people thinking this was just a reactionary comment from Holland, he continued making social media posts hinting at his retirement.
During a podcast appearance which was released today, Holland officially confirmed his retirement from MMA and stated that unless something 'magical' pops up he is 100 per cent retired.
See what Holland had to say in full below.
The main reason as to why so many people are sceptical about this statement from Holland is because of how young he is and the fact that despite not being ranked in either the welterweight or middleweight division in which he has competed in, he is one of the most exciting and entertaining fighters on the current UFC roster.
If Holland is being serious and has genuinely retired from MMA then it is unfortunate as he has so much potential and he is one of the most loved fighters in the UFC.

Rumours of Khamzat Chimaev being stuck in Russia are debunked
Earlier today rumours surfaced that Khamzat Chimaev was stuck in Russia after having his passport seized by Russian authorities whilst he was over visiting his family in Chechnya.
These rumours have now been debunked as Brett Okamoto has spoken with Chimaev's manager who confirmed there were no issues regarding Chimaev and his travel out of Russia.
I just spoke to Khamzat Chimaev's (@KChimaev) manager Majdi Shammas, who told me reports of Khamzat being stuck in Russia with a revoked passport are not true. Khamzat is in Russia, but there are 'no problems' with any travel restrictions according to Shammas.— Brett Okamoto (@bokamotoESPN) October 4, 2022
Aspen Ladd signs with PFL
