Former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion Liam McGeary was set to face Bubba McDaniel in the co-main event of Bellator 185.
However, the former champion was forced to withdraw from the event and now he reveals that a broken thumb is what lead to the incident.
The former champion shared the news himself through Instagram:
McGeary?s opponent that night in McDaniel was a replacement for King Mo, who had to pull out of the fight himself due to an injury suffered while training.
Since McGeary had pulled out of the fight, the replacement opponent in McDaniel has been begging for another opportunity in the Bellator cage.
Bellator 185 takes place on Friday, October 20 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Gegard Mousasi and Alexander Shlemenko headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
