Paulo Costa may be next in line for Adesanya and the fighter believes that he can kill the middleweight champion.
“I think I am the most dangerous guy in my division, the middleweight division,” Costa said on the UFC 243 post-fight show (via Dave Doyle of MMA Junkie). “And when I put my hands on his head, his body, he’s going to feel a lot. I feel he can die, for sure.”
Adesanya and Costa has a brief confrontation at UFC 243, but nothing physical took place between the two.
If Costa doesn’t find a way to kill Adesanya in the Octagon, one thing the fighter plans on doing is knocking the champion’s head off.
“Now, we have only one fight to do,” Costa said. “One fight to make up. It’s me against Israel. I want this fight with all my soul. I will take his head off of this cage. Man, you don’t know how much I want this fight.”
There is no word yet on when the potential Adesanya versus Costa bout will happen, but it would be Costa’s first chance at the UFC Middleweight Title.
