Daniel Cormier Explains Eric Trump Tweet, Says He Was Hacked And Wants People To Think Logically

Before UFC Freedom 250 at the White House got underway, there was plenty of controversy online involving Daniel Cormier.
Cormier allegedly tweeted and deleted a post showing screenshots of Eric Trump allegedly seeking betting advice and asking if the fights are rigged. Cormier captioned the post and screenshots, “I’m probably going to get a lot of flak for bringing this to light, however I refuse to stay silent. The UFC is a sport that I am deeply passionate about I will not tolerate this type of insider behavior. Shame on anyone trying to ruin this beautiful event.”
Cormier would later say that he was hacked.
On his YouTube channel, Cormier detailed what happened with that tweet.
“I get to the UFC on Sunday and two of the UFC social media people are telling me, ‘We were just talking about you.’ ‘About what?’ ‘You and Eric Trump.’ ‘What about me and Eric Trump?’ I go to the event and they are telling me they are talking about something that I have no idea that is going on. I have no idea how long it was up or had been taken down.
“Whoever hacked my Twitter, they posted it and took it down because they think that people are going to believe stuff like that. At the end of the day, I would never do anything like that. I would never engage in those conversations or go to Twitter and post that. I wouldn’t do that,” he stated.
He continued, “It doesn’t make sense logically to think that I would do that. One, I don’t really talk like that. Two, I’m going to the White House to do that fight. Why, right before I got into the White House, would I do something like that, knowing I’m going to be around all these people? It doesn’t make sense.
“I’m barely getting into my Twitter account these last two and a half days. I’ve been working with Twitter to get me back into my account. I’m trying to broadcast this historical event, and in the middle of it all, I’m trying to change the password to make sure people aren’t posting crazy things from the account.”
Cormier said that the deleted tweet wasn’t an issue between him and the UFC, but has become an issue between him and sponsors, who started questioning him.
“I’m telling you it isn’t true, and people don’t want to believe it. It isn’t true. That man did not ask me that type of stuff. I don’t think he’s stupid enough to do that. I don’t think anybody would be dumb enough to do that to someone they don’t know. He doesn’t know me. We don’t follow each other. I met Donald Trump Jr on Saturday and mistook him for Eric Trump. I don’t follow politicians that closely. I didn’t have a conversation. I didn’t put a tweet out. I would never do that. Had I done that and I go to the Octagon, all of a sudden I’m around all the people I tried to expose. It doesn’t make sense,” he stated.
🚨 In a now-deleted post, Daniel Cormier exposed Eric Trump for asking him if any of the UFC White House fights were rigged:

Cormier questioned why people would believe he would put his job and family at risk by sending a tweet like that.
He closed by reading the alleged conversation between him and Trump, noting that he does not talk like that before saying he wants to stop being asked about it.
Cormier called the action at UFC Freedom 250 without incident.
