Report: Alex Caceres Gets Third Opponent At UFC Vegas 8

Alex Caceres needed a new opponent for UFC Vegas 8 after the removal of Kevin Croom from the card and now he has one in the form of Austin Springer.

Caceres (16-12-0-1NC) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Steven Peterson and Chase Hooper. Caceres hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Kron Gracie at UFC Fight Night Phoenix. Caceres has picked up sixteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of decision.

Springer (11-2-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Springer also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Contender Series Episode 10, defeating Giga Chikadze by second round submission. Springer also fought on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 22, losing in the opening round of the reality show to Chris Gruetzemacher.

UFC Vegas 8 is set for Saturday, August 29 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Anthony Smith and Aleksander Rakic headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
