A heavyweight division attraction will headline the September 5 UFC card as #7 Alistair Overeem faces #9 Augusto Sakai.

Overeem (46-18-0-1NC) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Walt Harris, Aleksei Oleinik and Sergei Pavlovich. Overeem will headline his fourth straight UFC card, holding a 2-1-0 record in those previous three main event appearances. Overeem has previously challenged for the UFC Heavyweight Title, losing to Stipe Miocic via first round knockout at UFC 203.
Sakai (15-1-1) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, having earned victories over Chase Sherman, Andrei Arlovski, Marcin Tybura and Blagoy Ivanov. Sakai is going to be headlining his first ever UFC event, despite having been with the promotion for almost two years. Sakai has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Cheick Kongo at Bellator 179.
UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Sakai takes place on Saturday, September 5 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Alistair Overeem and Augusto Sakai headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
