Report: Azunna Anyanwu Replaces Valentin Moldavsky At Bellator 225

Valentin Moldavsky has been pulled from Bellator 225 for undisclosed reasons according to My MMA News, replacing him against Timothy Johnson is going to be Azunna Anyanwu

Johnson (12-5-0) is winless thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, dropping a bout to fellow UFC veteran Cheick Kongo at Bellator 208. Johnson also won four of seven during a run with the UFC, with notable wins coming over the duo of Shamil Abdurakhimov and Marcin Tybura. Johnson has competed seventeen times as a professional MMA fighter and only five of those bouts went the distance.

Anyanwu (15-5-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so having won six of his last seven encounters. Anyanwu competed once under the UFC banner, suffering a split decision loss to Justin Ledet at UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh. Anyanwu also competed on Dana White?s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 1, defeating Greg Rebello by second round knockout. 

Bellator 225 takes place on Saturday, August 24 from the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Matt Mitrione and Sergei Kharitonov headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which is going to be airing live on the Paramount Network.
