A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov as Clay Guida faces Bobby Green.
MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Guida (35-19-0) has won three of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Erik Koch, Joe Lauzon and BJ Penn. Guida is back in action for the first time in almost a year, as his last bout took place at UFC Fight Night Newark in August of 2019. Guida has suffered nineteen losses as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of them came by way of submission.
Green (24-10-1) has won just one of his last seven in the UFC, with that lone win coming over the aforementioned Koch at UFC On Fox 27. Green hasn’t picked up a win in over two years, as the aforementioned win over Kock took place in January of 2018. Green has seen his last five fights go the distance and it has been over six years since the fighter got a finish.
UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov takes place on Saturday, June 20 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
