Report: Dana White Contender Series Season 4 Pushed Back To August

Season four of Dana White’s Contender Series was originally set to kick off this coming Tuesday, but the coronavirus pandemic has forced a change for the show.

A report from MMA Junkie is stating that season four of the Contender Series is expected to begin on August 4 and could possibly run through October. Much like last season, season four of the show will take place at the UFC Apex, which has also been the home for a plethora of UFC card during the pandemic.

The report from MMA Junkie also states that Adrian Yanez, Josh Parisian, Leomana Martinez, Joseph Pyfer, Chad Johnson and Jerome Rivera are expected to compete on season four, but their opponents and fight dates haven’t been revealed at this time. Brandon Royval, Anthony Ivy and Kyle Daukaus were also expected to compete on season four, but they have already made their UFC debuts after accepting short notice fights for the promotion.

With the UFC expected to run weekly cards at the UFC Apex before and after their run on Fight Island, it would mean that MMA fans would see two events per week from the promotion and at the UFC Apex.
