Report: Edson Barboza Now Faces Sodiq Yusuff At UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen

Edson Barboza will reportedly fight Sodiq Yusuff at UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen after a fight with Jeremy Stephens was called off.

Barboza was scheduled to face Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana. He will now delay his Octagon return by one week to fight Yusuff at UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen. Raphael Marinho of Combate first reported the news, citing Stephens delaying his return to action as the reason for the bout change.

Barboza (20-9-0) is winless thus far when competing at featherweight, dropping a fight to Dan Ige at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris. Barboza has not picked up a victory in almost two years. His last win was against Dan Hooker at UFC On Fox 31. Barboza has competed 29 times as a professional MMA  fighter. All 11 of those bouts went the distance.

Yusuff (11-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, picking up wins over Suman Mokhtarian, Sheymon Moraes, Gabriel Benitez and Andre Fili. Yusuff also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 14, defeating Mike Davis by unanimous decision. Yusuff comes into the bout riding a six-fight winning streak. He has not been defeated in nearly three years.

UFC Fight Night: Moraes vs. Sandhagen takes place on Saturday, October 10. No location has been formerly announced. Ranked bantamweights Marlon Moraes and Cory Sandhagen will headline. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event.
