Report: Guram Kutateladze Steps In, Faces Mateusz Gamrot At UFC Fight Island 6

Mateusz Gamrot needed a new opponent for UFC Fight Island 6 after the withdrawal of Magomed Mustafaev and now he has one because Guram Kutateladze has agreed to step in on short notice.

MMA Junkie first reported the news.

Gamrot (17-0-1) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over eight years. Gamrot is the current KSW MMA lightweight champion, defeating Grzegorz Szulakowski to win the gold at KSW 42. Gamrot has competed 18 times as a professional MMA fighter and just eight of those bouts went the distance.

Kutateladze (11-2-0) is also making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of an eight fight winning streak. Kutateladze has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter, with one of them coming to UFC veteran Oliver Enkamp in April of 2014. Kutateladze is competing for the first time in almost a year, as his last fight took place in November of last year.

UFC Fight Island 6 is set for Saturday, October 17 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
