Report: Impa Kasanganay Replaces Abu Azaitar At UFC Fight Island 5

Abu Azaitar has withdrawn from UFC Fight Island 5 for undisclosed reasons, replacing him against Joaquin Buckley is Impa Kasanganay.

Buckley (10-3-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner having dropped a bout to Kevin Holland at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik. Buckley is competing for the third time this year, making 2020 his most active year as a professional MMA fighter since 2015. Buckley has competed 13 times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those bouts went the distance.

Kasanganay (8-0-0) has already picked up one win under the UFC banner, which came over Maki Pitolo at UFC Vegas 8. Kasanganay has competed twice before on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating the duo of Kailin Hill and Anthony Adams. Kasanganay has competed eight times as a professional MMA fighter and six of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Fight Island 5 takes place on Saturday, October 10 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Marlon Moraes and Cory Sandhagen headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams  live on ESPN+.
