Report: Jose Johnson Faces Ronnie Lawrence At Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 31

A bantamweight division attraction has been added to Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 31 as Jose Johnson faces Ronnie Lawrence.

Cageside Press first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Johnson (11-5-0) enters the contest on a five fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost two years. Johnson last competed at Legacy Fighting Alliance 78 in November of last year, defeating Rafael Costa by first round knockout. Johnson has picked up eleven wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of KO/TKO.

Lawrence (3-1-0) is competing for the first time in over a year, with his last appearance coming at LFA 67 in May of 2019. Lawrence has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Steve Garcia at Bellator 162. Lawrence has competed four times as a professional MMA fighter and three of those bouts went the distance.

Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 31 takes place on Tuesday, September 8 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
