A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Smith vs. Teixeira as Marvin Vettori is in action against Karl Roberson.
MMA Junkie first reported the news, as the bout was originally set for the UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira event on April 25.
Vettori (14-4-1) enters the contest while riding a two fight winning streak, with his victories coming over Andrew Sanchez and Cezar Ferreira. Vettori has seen his last six professional MMA fights go the distance and it has been over three years since the fighter got a finish. Vettori has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came by way of decision.
Roberson (9-2-0) also enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Wellington Turman and Roman Kopylov. Roberson competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 3, defeating Ryan Spann by first round knockout. Roberson has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira takes place on Wednesday, May 13 from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
