Report: Matt Schnell vs. Tyson Nam Rebooked For 12/19 UFC Card

A flyweight division attraction has been rebooked for the UFC card on December 19 as #10 Matt Schnell faces #14 Tyson Nam.

MMA Junkie first reported the news as the duo was originally set to meet at UFC Vegas 10, but Schnell pulled out of the fight due to weight cutting issues.

Schnell (14-5-0) has won four of his last five fights under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Marco Beltran, Naoki Inoue, Louis Smolka and Jordan Espinosa. Schnell has competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24, making it to the quarterfinals before losing to Tim Elliott. Schnell has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.

Nam (20-11-1)  has won two of four during his UFC tenure with those wins coming over Zarrukh Adashev and Jerome Rivera. Nam has previously challenged for the Fight Night Global Flyweight Title, losing to Zhalgas Zhumagulov by unanimous decision at FNG 86 in April of 2018. Nam has suffered eleven losses as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of decision.

The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, December 19 with Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
