Report: Molly McCann Undergoes Surgery On Injured Eye

Molly McCann competed on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night London, pulling out a unanimous decision win over Priscila Cachoeira.

The victory did not come without consequence, because a victorious McCann has to undergo surgery on a broken orbital bone suffered in the third round of the bout according to John Morgan of MMA Junkie.

That surgery actually took place yesterday, it is unknown at this time as to how long McCann is expected to be out of action for, but more should be known as the surgically repaired orbital bone heals up.

McCann, even with the broken orbital bone, did manage to make some UFC history as the fighter became the first English born woman to win a UFC fight. McCann now has a 1-1-0 record under the UFC banner, with the fighter losing her debut bout in the promotion to Gillian Robertson at UFC Fight Night Liverpool.

An injured McCann did post the following on Instagram Stories, which was also put on Twitter by Caroline Pearce of the PFL:

Cachoeira is now 0-2-0 in the UFC, with the other loss coming last year to UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentimna Shevchenko.
