A light heavyweight division attraction has been added to the recently announced UFC card on August 22 as Ovince St. Preux faces Shamil Gamzatov.
MMA Fighting first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
St. Preux (24-14-0) has won just two of his last six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tyson Pedro and Michal Oleksiejczuk. St. Preux is back at light heavyweight after a stop at heavyweight, which was a loss to Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira. St. Preux has previously challenged for the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Title, losing to Jon Jones at UFC 197.
Gamzatov (14-0-0) has already picked up one win in the UFC, which came over Klidson Abreu at UFC Fight Night Moscow. Gamzatov also competed twice in the PFL, picking up victories over the duo of Eddie Gordon and Rex Harris. Gamzatov has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and ten of them came by submission and KO/TKO.
The recently announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, August 22 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
