Report: Renato Moicano Tests Positive For COVID-19, Fight Moved To UFC 256

A lightweight division attraction between Renato Moicano and Rafael Fiziev, originally set for UFC Vegas 15, has been moved to UFC 256 after Moicano tested positive for COVID-19.

Punchline MMA first reported the news.

Moicano (14-3-1) has been undefeated since moving up to lightweight, having defeated Damir Hadzovic by first round submission at UFC Fight Night Brasilia. Moicano had previously competed as a featherweight in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Zubaira Tukhugov, Jeremy Stephens, Calvin Kattar and Cub Swanson. Moicano has picked up seven of 14 wins by submission, with the other seven coming by way of decision.

Fiziev (8-1-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Alex White and Marc Diakiese. Fiziev has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Magomed Mustafaev at UFC Fight Night St. Petersburg. Fiziev has competed a total of nine times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.

UFC 256 takes place on Saturday, December 12 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
