It would appear that there is one less featherweight to compete in the stacked UFC Featherweight Division, as Sheymon Moraes has announced that he has been released by the promotion.
The fighter announced the news via Instagram:
Moraes went 2-3-0 in the UFC (11-4-0) overall, with those victories coming over Matt Sayles and Julio Arce, while suffering defeats to the trio of Zabit Magomedsharipov, Sodiq Yusuff and Andre Fili. Moraes also competed in the World Series Of Fighting before coming to the UFC, defeating the three pack of Gabriel Solorio, Robbie Peralta and Luis Palomino.
There has been no comment from the UFC on Moraes’ potential release from the promotion, but if it is true, it would leave the fighter to sign with whatever promotion that would like his services.
