Report: UFC 253 Could Move From September 19 To September 26

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and title challenge Paulo Costa may have additional time to prepare for their UFC 253 clash.

UFC 253 is currently set for Saturday, September 19, but a report from Ariel Helwani of ESPN states the event could be moved one week later to Saturday, September 26. Helwani also reports the middleweight title bout will not be affected by the date change and will still serve as headliner.

Helwani also reports there is no location for the show. The UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada and Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi are reportedly the frontrunners.

There is already a Fight Night card reportedly set for September 26, but that card has no main event as of this writing. It is unknown if the date for that Fight Night card will also get changed, or if those bouts will be added to the UFC 253 card.

UFC 253 is currently scheduled for Saturday, September 19 from a location to be announced. Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa will fight for the middleweight title in the main event. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
