Thiago Moises Wants To Prove That He Belongs In The UFC

Thiago Moises is back in action next month at UFC 237, facing Kurt Holobaugh in a lightweight division attraction.

The Brazilian fighter, who is winless thus far in the UFC, wants to prove that he belongs in the promotion.

“I know I belong to the UFC,” Moises said to MMA Junkie. “I want to win this match, keep the momentum going and stay active.”

Moises made his UFC debut as a late notice replacement fighter and UFC Fight Night Denver and promptly suffered a unanimous decision loss to Beneil Dariush.

While Moises is looking for that elusive first UFC win, one thing he knows is that Holobaugh may be competing for the last time in the promotion.

“Yes, it’s going to be his last fight in the UFC,” Moises said with a laugh. “If he comes desperate, I’m going to take – he’ll give me something and I will not miss. I’m going to make him pay… Any mistake he makes, it’s going to be the end for him.”

UFC 237 takes place on Saturday, May 11 from the Arena Da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil with Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
