Aljamain Sterling, Petr Yan Make Cases For Title Fight, Ivanov, Kattar Win Top 15 Bouts At UFC 238

UFC 238 had one of the most loaded cards in UFC history is it pertained to stakes and ranked fighters.

#3 bantamweight Aljamain Sterling and #4 Pedro Munhoz fought on the prelims of the headlining Bantamweight Title fight, also possibly serving as an insurance policy for said main event. Aljamain Sterling cashed out that insurance policy with an impressive, exciting, unanimous decision win, and called out the winner of the night's main event along the way.

Speaking of bantamweight insurance, #9 Bantamweight Petr Yan was tasked to face longtime 135 pound top-10 name Jimmie Rivera (#7). Yan's hot streak continues with a unanimous decision win, and much like Sterling, called for a Bantamweight Title fight.

#10 Featherweight Ricardo Lamas hoped to retain his spot in the top 10, while #15 Calvin Kattar looked to take it from him. That seems like it will be the case, as Kattar easily finished Lamas with a filthy combo in the first round.

Completely under the radar on this show filled with title fights and title contenders, but #11 Tai Tuivasa was hoping to return to form against #13 Blagoy Ivanov. Unfortunately for Tuivasa, the experience of Ivanov left him with no answers, and left Ivanov with a unanimous decision win.

Elsewhere on the show, former UFC Title challenger Eddie Wineland TKO'd UFC newcomer Grigory Popov.
