WWE Champion Bobby Lashley Up For MMA Matchup With Brock Lesnar

Current WWE champion Bobby Lashley is open to the possibility of competing against eight-time WWE champion and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar in an MMA bout.

Lashley who is now just the third black WWE champion in the companies history spoke with TMZ Sports about his potential challengers for WrestleMania 37, and Lesnar's name undoubtedly came up. The current king of the WWE universe said the following about his desire to compete in some sort of athletic competition against Lesnar, mentioning the idea of a fight.

"I'm willing to fight, I'm willing to wrestle, I'm willing to do a doggone 100-meter dash, I don't care," Lashley said with a big grin on his face. "I like those big matchups, Brock is one of the biggest things across the sports industry, sports world, across the board. So if I can have an opportunity to fight Brock or wrestle Brock or do anything against Brock, I'm 100 percent in and I will be ready."

Lesnar is a former UFC heavyweight champion, defeating Randy Couture via a second-round TKO to win the title back at UFC 91 in November 2008. He's 5-3-1 overall as a professional fighter and hasn't fought since UFC 200 in July 2016 where he beat Mark Hunt by a unanimous decision, but it was overturned to a no-contest after Lesnar tested positive for Clomifene. Lashley is a former Bellator and Strikeforce veteran compiling a 15-2 record over seventeen professional outings. He won his last eights fights finishing seven of those opponents with his last appearance coming at Bellator 162 against Josh Appelt who he defeated via a second-round submission due to a rear-naked choke.
