Former UFC strawweight champion, Zhang Weili, is excited about a potential matchup with current strawweight champ, Carla Esparza.
Weili spoke with reporters at the media day for this Saturday night's UFC 275 pay-per-view event in Singapore ahead of her rematch with fellow former strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and explained if she were to be victorious this weekend, why a title fight with Esparza would be one that interests her.
“I feel really happy and excited if I can fight Carla,” Weili said (h/t MMA Junkie). “I think the matchup with me and Carla will be very different…no matter striking or on the ground, we will fight a lot. It’s about bringing the exciting fights to the fans, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
