Yota Tsuji Says His Match With Kenny Omega Could Change AEW-NJPW Relationship
Yota Tsuji will defend the IWGP Heavyweight Title against Kenny Omega in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 21.
Tsuji has been candid with his comments regarding the AEW-NJPW relationship, wanting it to feel more equal and for the IWGP to be treated with respect.
Speaking at the Wrestle Kingdom press conference, Tsuji said about the relationship, “I’ve said before that if things stay the way they are, we would be better of ending this relationship, but the point is, that’s if things stay the way they are. This match could change the relationship between NJPW and AEW entirely. If all the other NJPW wrestlers win their matches, but I lose, then that’s a loss for New Japan overall.”
Omega pinned Tsuji in a three-way match at NJPW Power Struggle to earn his title shot.
