Adam Copeland Reflects On AEW Grand Slam Mexico: “I’ll Take Last Night To The Grave With Me”
Adam Copeland looks back on competing at Grand Slam Mexico.
Starting AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam Mexico at Arena México was an eight-man tag team match that saw the Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC, Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta) versus The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) and AEW World Tag Team Champions Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
Copeland was the first to make his entrance on the show. He took the pinfall loss in the bout, but took to Instagram afterward to reflect on the night and how much it meant to him.
“What. A. Night. Finally, finally after 34 years I was privileged to step into The Wrestling Cathedral. Arena Mexico. And man, Mexico you did not disappoint. I felt the vibrations in my bones when I came out. It’d been 18 years since I last performed in Mexico and to finally do it in those hallowed halls, the perfect way to cap off my love affair with Lucha Libre and Mexico. Copeland noted that his ‘white whale’ venues are Arena México, Wembley Stadium, Maple Leaf Gardens and the Tokyo Dome. Copeland is scheduled to appear at Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s show at the Maple Leaf Gardens in October.
As for Wembley Stadium, he and Christian Cage will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks at All In.
