AEW Dynamite Draws Almost A Million Viewers For 12/9, Outdraws NXT

Fresh off last week's Winter Is Coming special, AEW Dynamite this week drew its best viewership in months.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the December 9 episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 995,000 viewers, which is up from the 913,000 viewers the December 2 episode drew. This was Dynamite's best viewership since September 9 when it drew 1.016 million viewers. As for NXT, this week's show drew 659,000 viewers, up from December 2's 658,000 viewers.

Karrion Kross: Black And Gold Never Dies

AEW drew a 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demographic this week, which is up from last week's 0.42 rating, and second-best in all of cable for the day. NXT drew a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demographic this week (37th best on cable), which is up from last week's 0.16 rating. AEW had the highest rating among males in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.57 rating. NXT had a better rating in the 50+ demo with a 0.35 to AEW's 0.29 rating.

AEW Dynamite featured an appearance from Sting and NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal. The show also saw AEW World Champion Kenny Omega appear fresh off his appearance on the December 8 episode of IMPACT Wrestling.

NXT this week saw the fallout for TakeOver: WarGames with an appearance from NXT Champion Finn Balor. In addition, former NXT Champion Karrion Kross returned for the first time in months. In the main event, Raquel Gonzalez defeated Ember Moon.
