AJ Lee: It Is Surreal To Be A Champion Again 11 Years Later

AJ Lee comments on her WWE Women’s Championship victory at Elimination Chamber 2026.

At Elimination Chamber, AJ Lee had her first title match in 11 years against Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. There were some shenanigans during the match, but in the end, Lee emerged victorious and became the new champion.

On the post-show for Elimination Chamber, Lee was asked how she felt when Becky Lynch tapped out to her.

“So good. Surreal. I feel like it took her forever to actually tap. It was the longest moment of my life. I was waiting to see if she would give up. She did. It is surreal to, 11 years later, be a champion again.”

Later, Lee said that she never thought a moment like this would come, as she just wanted to beat Becky once or twice.

“It was not in the cards at all. Even coming back, I just wanted to beat Becky’s face in once or twice. I was content with that. So for the title opportunity to come up, it’s sprinkles on top of the sundae. I am going to really enjoy every second of this.”
