Asuka vs. Becky Lynch For SmackDown Live Women's Championship Not Official For Royal Rumble PPV

The former GM claims to have tried to make one last match before she left.

It was announced during an episode of WWE 'Main Event' on the 'Hulu' streaming service that at the 2019 Royal Rumble pay-per-view Becky Lynch would be challenging Asuka for the SmackDown Live Women's Championship. The former GM of SmackDown Live Paige, who was relieved of her duties this past Tuesday noted on Twitter that she tried to make one last match before she was relieved of her position and that match was Becky Lynch versus Asuka at the Royal Rumble on January 27th but Paige added that the match is not official.

Asuka captured the SmackDown Women's Title this past Sunday at the WWE TLC pay-per-view where Ronda Rousey came out during the Triple-Threat TLC match involving Asuka, Becky and Charlotte Flair and Ronda pushed Charlotte and Becky off a ladder which opened the door for Asuka to climb up and grab the title.

The announcement of the now-cancelled SmackDown Live Women's Championship match at the Royal Rumble was not mentioned on WWE's website or on any of their social media pages.

Here's the updated card for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view:
