Bandido: If You Have A Match In Arena Mexico, You Can Say You Are A Real Luchador

Bandido discusses how important Arena Mexico is to luchadores, noting you can say you’re a real luchador after working there.

Arena Mexico is one of the most iconic venues in the world of professional wrestling, for many considered to be the most iconic due to it’s ties to lucha libre in Mexico. The arena is a staple of CMLL’s product, with AEW recently beginning to run Grand Slam Mexico events annually at the venue. For one AEW star, it is the key to being known as a real luchador.

While speaking to Close-Up with Renee Paquette, Bandido would speak about the arena and it’s influence on luchadores, noting that once you wrestle there, ‘you can say you are a real luchador.’

“Arena Mexico is like, for a wrestler, an achievement to be here. If you have a match here, you can say you are a real luchador. There are some places in the world, when you are in Japan, Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Dome. When you’re in the states, Madison Square Garden. It’s the same feeling to be here in Arena Mexico.”
