Bayley Wishes The Women's Tag Titles Meant More, Says She Talks To Sasha Banks All The Time

Bayley talks friendship with Sasha Banks.

Fans haven't seen Sasha Banks since WrestleMania 35 when she and Bayley lost the Women's Tag Team Titles to the IIconics. While Banks has been away, Bayley has moved on to become a singles star once again, gaining the SmackDown Women's Title at WWE Money in the Bank.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Bayley revealed that she remains in contact with her best friend and former tag team partner.

“She’s always happy for me, whenever. She called me [the night I won the title]," said Bayley. "We’re always happy for each other when anything great like that happens. You know, when she won her first title I wasn’t there. But we talk all the time and just like normal best friends in real-life, we’re happy when we see each other succeed.”

Banks reportedly took time away from WWE due to her frustrations over how the situation with the Women's Tag Team Titles played out. Banks & Bayley were reportedly hoping for a longer run to establish the belts, but they were champions for just 49 days. Following the IIconics victory at WrestleMania 35, the belts were rarely featured on television. The IIconics lost the titles this past Monday on Raw to Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

“I just wish they were more,” Bayley started. “And that was our goal, to try and bring them to life and everything and we didn’t really get a chance to do what we wanted with it. But, we thought the IIconics would have a chance and then they kind of didn’t. So I just see so much potential in the tag titles and I still haven’t given up on them. If it’s Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss who actually get time to grow the titles, then I’m happy with that. As long as they get out there and they’re represented how they should be, I’ll be happy.”

Bayley is set to defend her SmackDown Women's Title this Sunday at SummerSlam against Ember Moon.
