The Briscoes Reflect On Trilogy With FTR, Like The Moniker 'Too Hot For TV'

At ROH Final Battle, The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) captured the ROH Tag Team Titles for the 13th time when they defeated FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) in a double dog collar match.

The Briscoes are the most decorated tag team in ROH history and standout singles performers as well.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, the Briscoes were asked if the trilogy with FTR in 2022 topped their storied careers.

"That's a tough one. It's hard because this one is so fresh, it was two days ago. When we look back, when we're old and retired and in the rocking chair looking back, the trilogy of 2022, Briscoes and FTR, it's going to be hard to beat," said Jay.

Mark agreed, adding, "Definitely so. We're still rolling and still on the ride, stay tuned, there is more to come. As of right now, on the ride, I'm thinking the three we had with FTR is going to stand out at the end of the day."

Before the Briscoes bested FTR at ROH Final Battle, FTR won the ROH Tag Team Championships at ROH Supercard of Honor when they defeated The Briscoes. In the second bout between the two teams, FTR won a two-out-of-three falls match, two falls to one, at ROH Death Before Dishonor.

Speaking about their mindset heading into the double dog collar match, Mark said, "It's blank. You go on animal mode. 'I'll feel this pain once we stop moving.' Nine stitches here, right out the gate, banged my head off the steps. The mindset is, you have to react. You have to react. It's more going out there and not even thinking. That's how we like to perform. I feel that's when we're at our best."

Though AEW integrated ROH championships into AEW Dynamite and AEW Rampage proramming, The Briscoes did not appear on AEW television ahead of the ROH events due to Jay Briscoe's homophobic tweets from 2013 and WarnerMedia reportedly not wanting them on television.

When host Dave LeGreca said they were "too hot for TV" and you had to pay to see them, Mark said, "That's a cool way to put it."

Tony Khan announced after ROH Final Battle that the weekly ROH television show will air on HonorClub. A start date for the show has yet to be announced.
