Cary Silkin And Gabe Sapolsky Comment On Tony Khan Acquiring Ring Of Honor

Cary Silkin and Gabe Sapolsky have congratulated Tony Khan on becoming the new owner of ROH.

Tony Khan kicked off the March 2 episode of AEW Dynamite by announcing that he had just signed a deal to acquire Ring of Honor. Per the press release issued immediately afterward, Tony Khan is now in possession of ROH's extensive video library dating back to 2002, brand assets, intellectual property, production equipment, and more.

Cary Silkin, who owned the company from 2004 to 2011, took to Twitter after the announcement to say that he feels as though his baby is in good hands.

Gabe Sapolsky, who helped found ROH and then booked the product for several years also jumped on social media and shared the following message on his Instagram account.

"Here’s how Ring Of Honor started. It was announced as a monthly indie in a mail order catalog for a video company. I never dreamed that 20 years later it would be featured on a prominent, red hot wrestling show on TBS. I’m very happy that so many more will now enjoy the legacy of ROH and that it will continue to blaze a path in the world of pro wrestling. Congratulations to Tony Khan on becoming the new owner. I normally give a pro tip in my IG posts. All I’ll say here is to never limit yourself and anything is possible in life. It means so much to me that this little indie darling from 2002 will forge forward in 2022 and continue to build community while bringing entertainment to the fans," he wrote.

ROH was set to come back from hiatus on April 1 from Supercard of Honor after taking the first quarter of 2022 to re-imagine the product.
