Don't expect Charlotte on Total Divas anytime soon.
Total Divas takes fans behind the scenes and into the life of multiple female WWE superstars. The show is currently in its eighth season and has had a rotating cast of characters over the years. 18 women have been part of the Total Divas cast in the shows five year history.
One female who has not been part of the cast is seven time Divas/Women's champion Charlotte Flair. Speaking to Anthony Sulla-Heffinger of Yahoo Sports, Charlotte revealed why she hasn't been on the show and why that's unlikely to change.
“For me, my character has always come first and foremost and how far I want to take the women’s division,” Flair said. “I’ve worked so hard on this character and I’m not sure lifting the curtain is the right move right now. Especially when I first started and was a bad guy, people believed I really fired my dad! I just don’t know how that would have helped with my storyline. I almost think there’s a mystique to not knowing everything about me.”
A knock on Total Divas has been their focus on more personality driven characters and drama. Nikki Bella recently stated that she has pushed for the name of the show to be changed as she believes "Divas" is an outdated term that WWE has moved past.
The show is hitting record-low viewership and ratings numbers this season.
