On this week’s edition of AEW Collision, a new match was announced for AEW WrestleDream, as Will Ospreay will defend his AEW World Title in a ‘Clockwork Carnage match’. The match will feature 8 wrestlers who will enter the match every 3 minutes. Before all 8 wrestlers are in the bout, talent can be eliminated from the match via pinfall or submission. Once the full field has entered the match, the remaining competitors will duke it out for 15 minutes, with the person with the most falls being declared the winner at the end of those 15 minutes. The match type had previously been used at Pro Wrestling Eve, a promotion that Ospreay works with closely.

In a new social media post on Sunday morning, Will Ospreay explained that he wanted to bring the match to AEW after it’s success with Pro Wrestling EVE.

“Clockwork Carnage was such a huge success on @ProWrestlingEVE I wanted to bring the ultimate endurance match to AEW. Opportunity knocks as now we can mix it up with so many different talents & create something completely new in wrestling.”

Mick Foley and Willow Nightingale recently discussed Ospreay’s ability on the microphone. You can read more about that here.
