Chelsea Green: I Want To Do What Cody Rhodes Did And Wrestle The Best People To See Where I Fit

Chelsea Green won't make any definitive statements on her future in wrestling.

Green was released by WWE on April 15 and when her 90-day non-compete clause expires on July 14, she'll be free to sign with any promotion she would like.

Speaking on the Wrestling Perspective podcast, Green revealed that she wants to work everywhere before being tied down to one promotion.

"Right when I was released, I was thinking, 'don't do the obvious thing. Surprise people.' I think everyone is thinking about the obvious choices right now. For me, the not so obvious choice is to not sign right away and to go and do the things that I didn't do before I was signed. I was the champion at IMPACT, but there is so much more I can do at IMPACT. I did All In and I have those connections, but maybe I don't sign (with AEW) and I just do some matches. There's also Ring of Honor and I never got to go there. It's a huge place on my bucket list and I really want to wrestle there before I signed and I didn't get to. I make a list of things in my head that I want to do and now I get to do them. On my list, before I signed, was hitting Ring of Honor, getting to AAA, possibly going to Japan and doing more. I'm in a perfect position and in a position of power where I can choose. Before I sign anywhere, I really want to hit all those places. I don't know if I'm going to sign anywhere. I can't say it won't happen, but right now in my heart, I want to do what Cody Rhodes did when he left and work the best people and see where I fit in," she said.

After Cody left WWE in 2016, he posted a list online of his goals, which included matches against Adam Cole, Moose, The Young Bucks, Roderick Strong, competing in Battle of Los Angeles, and more. Cody was able to check off many things on his list as he wrestled for NJPW, PWG, IMPACT Wrestling, and ROH before helping start AEW.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Green discussed how she wants to keep her buzz up during the 90-day waiting period. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
