Cody: Mike Tyson Was One Of The Last Touches On AEW Double Or Nothing, Card 90% The Same

Though AEW has continued to run during the coronavirus pandemic, plans have changed regarding shows. The most notable change came when the company had to cancel the Blood & Guts match between The Inner Circle and The Elite, which was scheduled for March 25.

Throughout the past two months, certain performers, including top stars The Young Bucks & Hangman Page, have not been present on television as well.

But Double or Nothing will go on as scheduled this Saturday and according to Cody, the card remains largely unchanged.

"I would say this card, 90% of what we potentially had planned....not a lot of things changed due to COVID-19 in terms of creative," Cody said on a media call when asked how much of the card changed.

Cody didn't elaborate on the changes made.

On the May 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, it was revealed that Mike Tyson would present the AEW TNT Title to either Cody or Lance Archer, who are set to meet in the finals of TNT Title Tournament on Saturday at Double or Nothing.

When asked about Tyson's involvement, Cody answered, "Mike Tyson is somebody we met, as a company, at Double or Nothing last year. Over the course of the year, we'd come to really respect him as a fan of what we do. He's a hardcore AEW fan. I would say though, that's one of the last touches that was put on Double or Nothing in terms of 'who will be the one to present the championship.' Someone with the element of prestige, that is what Mike is there to do on Saturday. He will hand the championship to Lance or myself. It's been fun getting to know Mike over the last year."

Tyson famously appeared at WrestleMania 14 as the special enforcer for the WWE Title match between Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels.
