Cody Rhodes Wants More 90s-Style Retirements Where Wrestlers Aren’t Actually Retired

Cody Rhodes likes the old school retirements.
It’s been a year of retirements with Goldberg, John Cena, AJ Styles, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and more all hanging up the boots in high-profile fashion.
At WrestleMania 42, Brock Lesnar seemingly retired, leaving his boots and gloves in the ring after losing to Oba Femi, but returned a month later to attack Femi.
Speaking on Unsportsmanlike, Cody Rhodes commented on Brock’s short-lived retirement.
“I want to get back to 90s-style retirements, where we say we’re retired, and then we’re not. I think Brock has started (that way). Terry Funk was retired for 20 years. (Ric) Flair retired a bunch. (Randy) Savage kept retiring. I’m good with it if we’re not doing big, absolute, definitive retirements anymore. Just say I’m taking a break,” he said.
Brock will take on Oba at WWE Clash in Italy.
In the opening match, Cody will defend his Undisputed WWE Title against Gunther.
