D'Lo gives his take about why the Nation did not stick together longer.
The Nation Of Domination is looked upon as one of the most influential stables in the history of professional wrestling. The group as a whole in regards to the WWF version of the stable consisted of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, WWE Hall Of Famers Mark Henry, Ron Simmons, The Godfather, Ahmed Johnson and the late Owen Hart even joined the Nation.
The Nation lasted for a total of two years until each man in the group went their respective ways. The former 4-time WWF European Champion D'Lo Brown said during an interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald that he believes the Nation did not last that long because each person in the group were beginning to arise to star status in the singles ranks. He did add that he would've liked if it lasted a little longer or had a reunion somewhere down the line.
?During the time of the Nation, we had no clue what the Nation was. We were friends out there having fun and enjoying life. We didn?t know we were the Nation -- being viewed as something that was generational or something that would inspire younger kids so, we were just out there having fun. Now looking back on it I see what the Nation has done. I hear it every time I go to shows. I?ll be walking down the street and someone will mention the Nation Of Domination so it definitely meant a lot to a lot of people and I would?ve liked to see the Nation go on longer." Brown said. "I mean it had its run. I think we had a lot more to do, but the problem was that the guys in the Nation started becoming bigger than the Nation so it was easier pulling them away. Rocky was starting to blow up huge, Godfather had transitioned into his character, the new character, the new Godfather and Ron?s just an icon of the sport so everyone started growing larger than the group and it was hard to keep everyone in the group, and then Mark [Henry] and I were still a year away or so from blossoming ourselves so, it just, it was time but I would?ve loved to see it go a little longer or [do] a reunion or something.?
