Darby Allin Shows Off New AEW TNT Title With A Black Strap Instead Of Red

The AEW TNT Championship has undergone a minor change.

At AEW New Year's Smash night one, Darby Allin debuted the new TNT Championship, which features a black strap instead of a red strap. The belt design and everything else has remained the same.

Brodie Lee Jr. was crowned as AEW TNT Champion For Life on the December 30 episode of AEW Dynamite, which was a tribute show to Brodie's father Jon Huber (Brodie Lee). It was stated after the show that Brodie Jr's belt would be retired. There was initial confusion over what that meant for the AEW TNT Title.

On the AEW Dynamite post-show, Tony Schiavone said, "Little Brodie is always going to have that TNT belt. We'll come up with a new belt, that will be his." Later during the show, Schiavone clarified, "Tony Khan sent me a note. The particular belt that was given to little Brodie tonight has been retired, not the TNT Championship itself. The belt was."

Allin is set to defend the AEW TNT Title against Brian Cage at AEW New Year's Smash night two on January 13.
