Drew McIntyre Doesn't Want To Be Near The Title Until He And Everyone Else Is Ready

Drew McIntyre will know when he's ready.

Ever since Drew McIntyre was called up to the main roster following WrestleMania 34, fans have been wanting him near the title picture. McIntyre has been a featured player, but has not been elevated into title contention despite online support.

Speaking to Cathy Kelley on WWE Now, McIntyre discussed his title aspirations.

"It's 52 weeks a year and we have so much content. I've been on Raw and SmackDown for three months straight. I appreciate all the people out there who are like, 'Why aren't you fighting for the Universal Title?' The way I look at it is, one, I appreciate it," said McIntyre. "Two, that's a small part of our audience, the wild and passionate part, which I'm part of. They know what I'm about and my history. We also have this giant portion and this other portion that just watch occasionally but want to keep watching. The way I look at it is the more time I can keep building my character and that equity with the entire audience. That's my goal right now. I want the whole world to know what Drew McIntyre is about. I don't want to be near the title, and I've never had a title shot, until I'm ready and everyone else is ready."

Even though McIntyre has not gotten a shot at the WWE or Universal Title, he has shared the ring with Roman Reigns and The Undertaker this year. You can read his thoughts on those matches by clicking here.
