Eva Marie: I Was Going To Return Before WrestleMania, Then I Wasn't

In October 2020, it was reported that Eva Marie would be returning to WWE.

Months went by and Eva never popped back on on WWE television until vignettes began to air hyping her return on the May 3 episode of WWE Raw. Eva officially returned to live television on the June 14 episode of WWE Raw.

Speaking to Graham GSM Matthews of Bleacher Report, Eva explained why her return was delayed.

"There's always so many things where creatively, story-wise, there were so many thing where I was going to come back before 'Mania, and then I wasn't," she said. "Timing is everything, and just making sure it made sense. That's kind of where it was at where I thought I was returning a lot sooner, and then it didn't make sense. WrestleMania wasn't the right moment, and right after wasn't, either. It was just looking for that right little slot to insert the storyline and create it and start it."

Not only did Eva return to television, but she brought in a new protege, the former Piper Niven, who is now going by Doudrop.

Eva and Doudrop teamed with Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax to defeat Asuka, Naomi, Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss on Monday's WWE Raw. If you missed anything from Raw, check out Fightful's full report on the show by clicking here.
