True story.

Speaking to Joel Pearl of Fightful, Hayes was asked to shed some more light on getting a free meal.

"People who think I’m lying. If I was going to lie about something, I wouldn’t lie about a $20 meal at the airport. Acting like I got a Versace bag. I went to Potbelly and I had a [connecting flight], it was in New York, not even Toronto. Brother said what he said, ‘You pinned Randy Orton. You’re HIM. It’s free.’ That’s a verbatim quote. If you think I’m lying, brother can attest to it.

"I don’t want people to have the notion that I want free stuff. I’m not like broke. I’ll buy it, that’s not the issue. It’s the act. I appreciate that type of stuff. I don’t want free stuff like that. If you want to give me free stuff, give it to me, but I’m not on a free world tour," he said.

Hayes pinned Orton on the June 21st episode of WWE SmackDown to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
