Chelsea Green Discusses Nixed AAA Run, ROH’s Future

Chelsea Green talks about plans for her in AAA and gives her thoughts on Ring of Honor going on hiatus.

Chelsea Green was released by WWE on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Since her release, she has made an appearance in any and every promotion that would have her including Ring of Honor, the NWA, GCW, and more.

One destination that Chelsea had planned on stopping at during her run following her WWE release was AAA in Mexico. Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp at WrestleCade Revenge in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Chelsea details plans for her to appear at Triplemania that were ultimately scrapped because Chelsea’s schedule was too packed

“So I was supposed to, but our timeline didn’t really line up. Deonna was going. I was possibly going to go with her for Triplemania, which would have been amazing. But we haven’t been able to line things up and I’ve been busy.”

Chelsea Green was supposed to be a major part of Ring of Honors revamped women's division but unfortunately did not get to wrestle there much due to a prior injury before the company announced that they would be going on hiatus and subsequently released all talent from their contracts.

Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp, she revealed that she was not actually part of the Ring of Honor Zoom call where the hiatus was announced to the talent and therefore, the news came as a complete shock to her.

“I actually wasn’t part of the Zoom call, so it actually came as a shock to me. A lot of us found out the same way you all did, which was on Twitter. It didn’t bug me because I’m not contracted, so I don’t think that they owe me anything. But I was so sad to hear about that. I thought it was really interesting because they let us know and then not weeks later we had tapings. Everyone was thinking I was trolling Twitter posting photos at tapings. I was absolutely not. We are at tapings. We are still taping until the end of the year. I think there’s a couple of episodes past the end of the year and into 2022. So the vibe at tapings was really positive. I think everyone is excited to be together and be around each other and be hanging out for what could be the last time in theory. I think everyone was being really, really up front and honest and transparent about, ‘These are my options. What are yours? What are some good contacts that you have that I don’t?’ I feel like we all should be sharing that information,” Green concluded.

Ring of Honor has stated they will be back in April 2022 and Jonathan Gresham, their new World Champion, has promised to keep the spirit of pure wrestling alive after stating that he feels like Ring of Honor abandoned the pure wrestlers. Read more here.

Chelsea Green will participate in the first ever women's Ultimate X match at IMPACT Hard to Kill on January 8.
