Exclusive: UFC Champion Colby Covington Wants To Meet With WWE's Vince McMahon Monday

New Interim UFC Welterweight Champion Colby Covington's antics have often been compared to that of pro wrestling. His use of insults and incendiary comments seem plucked straight from the world of sports entertainment.

Perhaps that's why the outspoken Covington didn't mind it too much when WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar stormed the cage after a challenge from UFC double Champ Daniel Cormier at UFC 226. In fact, Covington saw it as "best for business," he tells Fightful.com's James Lynch.

"I loved it. It's the entertainment business. Brock sells, he brings the heat. We need the drawing power, that's what Brock does. Heavyweight, there's not a clear cut contender who is next. Being the WWE champion that he is, it makes sense to see him come right over and fight for the title," said Covington.

Covington also revealed that he'll be at WWE Monday Night Raw this coming Monday, and hopes to speak to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. On top of that, he has an interesting theory regarding Brock Lesnar.

"I'm going to be front row at Monday Night Raw in Miami, so we'll talk to Vince McMahon and see if we can get something going. I know there's some interest there. My manager Dan Lambert has a good relationship with WWE. My friend Bobby Lashley is an American Top Team rep, he's over in WWE now. I think honestly that's a little why Brock is scared and is leaving WWE. Now Bobby's over there, a big power guy who can match his strength. That's a relationship we're going to work on down the road and Dan Lambert is going to make it happen," Covington told Fightful.com

Covington actually isn't a stranger to pro wrestling. He appeared for Impact Wrestling in 2017 in one of their hottest angles of the year, which featured himself and other members of American Top Team alongside the aforementioned Dan Lambert and Bobby Lashley.
