Mark Haskins is not concerned with who wins Super Strong Style 16.
Mark Haskins is set to challenge for the Progress World Title this weekend when he takes on Kid Lykos and should he win, the winner of Super Strong Style 16 2024 will be waiting for him as his first title defense.
While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan about the tournament, Haskins stated that he doesn't care who wins the tournament.
"No, I don't care. I'm not at a point where I'm going to say, oh, I'd love to wrestle this guy. This guy is so good. No, send me whoever you want. I'm 18 years deep in this game, right? Like I have wrestled some of my heroes and I've beaten some of my heroes, right? It doesn't matter to me who steps up. If you want to step up, cool, come play. Come play. Let's get in the ring and let's have a play. But the fact is, is that everybody likes to think of themselves as being the greatest of whatever or being the best wrestler in the country or whatever stupid moniker that they like to call themselves. But then the same thing happens. I see this happen time and again, right? The card goes up on the dressing room wall. People go over and they like to look at, oh, what match have I got tonight? They see their name drawn up against mine. Then suddenly their throat starts to get tight. Suddenly their palms start to sweat. Suddenly they start to worry. They start to think, oh gosh, I've got Haskins. Oh, it's time to step up. That's the thing is I am a standard setter in this industry. I'm a standard setter in this country. That is the problem is that people for too long now for the last few years have disregarded me and disrespected me. It has pissed me off to a point where I am about to step up in a way that you have never seen Mark Haskins step up before."
