JBL: Chris Benoit Was The Best Techinical Wrestler I Worked. He Gave Me The Best Match I Ever Had

This was Lucas' first time wrestling since November 2022, as she decided to step away from the sport due to her husband's battle with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. James Castle lost his life to the disease in June 2024.

In a new interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Lucas talked about her return to the ring, saying she got the biggest reaction of her entire career.

"I'm super excited to be back. It feels like forever, but it also feels like I've never left. I did kind of think no one would remember who I was. They would just be like, ‘Who? Zo? Zo? Who's that?’ But yeah, it's been nice. It was unreal. So my first match back, I probably got the biggest cheer I've ever had in my entire career, which was amazing. It was just amazing."

Lucas went on to talk about wanting to come back for so long, revealing that she made the decision six months prior to her return.

"I keep saying unreal but it literally doesn't feel real, it feels like a dream. Because I've wanted to come back for so long and then I finally get to, it's like bittersweet but it's so good. Other than like the two days after my first match back when everything hit me and I was like, ‘Oh, I think I might actually be 60 years old.’ I kind of didn't decide straight away. I kind of just went I went back to training like six months prior just to take my mind off of the world. Most people come to wrestling to like escape and that's what I did. Then I was like, ‘Oh, I guess I could wrestle."
