Finn Balor Found Out About His WWE TLC Match Against Drew McIntyre Through Social Media

Finn Balor was just scrolling through Twitter when he found out he was booked against Drew McIntyre at WWE TLC.

Appearing on the NotSam Wrestling Podcast with Sam Roberts, Balor revealed that he learned about his WWE TLC bout just like the rest of us.

"I'm still trying to process the fact that I still have a match with Drew McIntyre at TLC. Like you guys, I found out through social media," said Balor. "'Let me check my verified tweets real quick. WWE....oh, Finn vs. Drew (laughs). It's crazy because we come from the same general area of planet Earth and we've had the same career path, but we've never had a singles match. We never crossed paths on the Indies. This is the first-time we get to step into the ring against each other. I've got a lot of stuff I want to prove to everyone. It's good to be in that spot."

After revealing how he found out about his opponent, Balor praised McIntyre for his work ethic and dedication to get back to the company. McIntyre was released from WWE in June 2014. He spent time in ICW, EVOLVE, IMPACT, and other Independent promotions before working his way back to WWE in April 2017.

"Credit to him for going through WWE at an early age and then regroup and reset his goals and come back in so composed and a completely different Drew McIntyre," he said. "I have ultimate respect for how he's handled his career. Guys like him and Jinder, they're great guides for when you do let go, the door is not always closed. There's light at the end of the tunnel and for people that can refocus, dig in and work hard, there's always a way back. For those guys, I have the ultimate respect."

Instead of re-debuting on the main roster, McIntyre spent a year in NXT. He was called up to the main roster earlier this year as backup for Dolph Ziggler.

Balor and McIntyre are scheduled to go one-on-one this Sunday at WWE TLC.
